Ali received his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014 and then went on to earn his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University in 2017. In the year prior to starting with Riverwalk Counseling Center, he interned there and worked extensively in the treatment of adults with co-occurring disorders in both an individual and group setting, allowing him to seamlessly transition into his current role. Using an integrative approach to therapy that is custom to each client’s needs, he provides a high-level of treatment in order to increase the success of therapy. His understanding of other cultures provides him with great insight in working with clients from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. Being a bilingual therapist, he hopes to reach out to the Arabic speaking population in his community.

Ali is also involved in the Intensive Outpatient Program at Riverwalk. Facilitating psychotherapy groups and individual case management to support clients in maintaining their sobriety as they progress through the program. With his experience in research and passion for detail and organization, he played a significant role in managing the successful Joint Commission Accreditation in 2018.
