Christine Kim, LCPC, CADC, RYT
Christine is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Registered Yoga Teacher who has been helping clients heal since 1996. Christine integrates eastern and western therapies and is currently in a 3-year yoga therapy training program to become certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addictions. Christine has special expertise in treating clients with dual diagnoses. She has been trained in a variety of techniques including CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
Christine believes that the heart of the therapy process is the relationship between client and therapist. Building trust in this collaborative relationship so that the client can feel safe to explore various healing modalities is of utmost importance. She believes that within each of us is the intrinsic ability to grow given the right environment. She believes that mind, body, and spirit are all connected, so she uses a whole body, holistic approach when treating clients. Christine integrates the tools of yoga with various western therapies for a multidimensional approach. She works with clients, providing them with an individualized, short practice designed to meet their individualized needs.
Christine facilitates a Women’s Sobriety Group at Riverwalk Counseling Center. This group is for women in early recovery and uses a multidimensional approach to recovery–CBT, 12-step compatible, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
