Robin Withrow, LCPC, CADC

Robin earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Northern Illinois University in 1998.  She has worked in behavioral health since 1987, when she began working with foster care teens in a group home.  She assisted in the development of three start-up programs: Illinois Department of Corrections and Rosecrance Parole substance abuse treatment program; Discovery, a Residence for recovering woman and children; and Rush Behavioral Health Dual diagnosis program for impaired professionals. She has worked for addiction treatment centers, community agencies and was employed as an outpatient therapist at Linden Oaks Medical group.  Robin uses a combination of approaches being trained in DBT, CBT.

She focuses on building a trusting relationship with her clients, meeting them at the place of readiness for change.  She works with adolescents and Adults, and has a passion for helping clients speak their “truths”, as well as working with clients who are in 12 step recovery programs.

She is experienced in working with a variety of mental health issues; anxiety, depression, Bi-Polar disorder, grief and loss, ADD/ADHD. Robin has a passion for learning and enjoys enhancing her training and skills. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Robin brings compassion; humor and a straight forward approach in helping her clients make changes during difficult times.
