Rita Wiermanski, LSW
Rita earned her Master’s degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa in 2015. She has been working in the mental health field since 2012. Rita has experience answering suicide hotline calls. She worked at an addiction agency where she provided halfway house and IOP programing with adolescent and adult clients. She also facilitated anger management programing. Rita has additional experience with outpatient mental health and has provided counseling and case management care. Rita worked with juvenile sex offenders. Rita provided street outreach and interim housing case management for a homeless shelter. Rita has presented substance abuse topics at a social justice conference and for drug court.
Rita is currently working on the adolescent inpatient unit at Linden Oaks Hospital. By using techniques such as CBT, DBT, Strengths Based and Motivational interviewing, Rita is able to work with individuals at different stages of change. She is empathetic and uses humor to assist clients with obtaining personal goals. Rita’s strength is her ability to listen and validate her clients.
